I got more Office stuff, bwahahaha! Don't be deceived though. The 'I Heart Jim' mug is old. I just added it for ambiance. I got the two sticky notepads, the squishy Dwight and the Pam pens. :D The Pam pens have Pam quotes!
This is all from Target's dollar section. They had some of the stuff that they offered last year, and they had a few new things. My favorite new things were the Pam stuff which seemed to replace the Jim stuff.
Marty got the Schrutebuck magnetic board for our fridge at home, these Office goodies are now in my office. :D
Not much going on over here. :P I need more motivation. I have a slew of costumes I need to work on and I haven't done much at all. First off I need to learn how to use the bloody serger. My friend doesn't seem the least bit interested in taking it back any time soon so I should use it while I have it. o_O
I started keeping a food shelf at work. That way I won't have to constantly bring lunch or whatever. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks. :D Work provides the water and soda. BWAHAHAA. And of course, I have the lovely David Tennant watching over me. :D
What's different about my office? Oh, that's right, it's my David Tennant calendar that Vivian and Hawk got me from England.
It's not 2009 quite yet, but I'm okay with staring at this same picture for a few months until the new year. Then I'll have a different David Tennant picture to look at with each passing month. :D
They also picked up Blackpool and the first series of the Catherine Tate Show for me. :D :D :D
I need a multi-region DVD player... and more DVDs.
AAHHHHH! I heart him so much!
So this is my work area. Very exciting. Not really.
I like it. It's pretty private. I have a desktop and a laptop. I frequently bring the laptop home. I decorated a bit. I have little toys and figures on the desk as well as pictures of Marty and Oki. I also hung up a Gator pennant and some art done by Sherry, Camay, and Vivian. :D
This is my Tulane ID!
I should have told them to put Christine but they put my Chinese name on it instead. I added 'Christine' with my labeler.
I didn't have much room to place the label nicely so I had to cover my department name. Whatever, if people want to know what department I'm in, I can just tell them.

Now the annoying part is there are a couple other jobs I'm interested in that haven't gotten back to me yet... so I need to call them and tell them that they should expedite the decision process if they want me to work for them instead. They may or may not care but I figure I'd like to know what options I have. I'll also have to give a courtesy call to those jobs that I don't care about to let them know I won't be available anymore.
I should probably be more excited but I'll wait until the end of the week.
These past few days have been so boring. Marty has most of my stuff, sewing stuff included so there's not much to do. Ashley and I watched Grease 2 and 27 Dresses. She hadn't seen Grease 2 yet so I had to make her watch it. 27 Dresses was actually pretty decent. Usually I avoid the main-stream romantic comedies.
Since I haven't done crap other than be lazy, here's a picture of part of the office. Basically what is being showcased are all the flyers and brochures and I've made and this is just on one wall. There's four more sections on other walls.
I'm going home to Ft. Myers for Memorial Day weekend. It'll be nice to see my parents before I leave the state. I can't wait to go shopping there. I'm a dork.
I don't want to use them my last two weeks because it's good etiquette to not go on vacation your last two weeks. I know certain large corporations require you to work a full two weeks before your last day but for this company, it's just good manners.
Blaarrrgh, no place to go, nobody to go with. Marty will be leaving for New Orleans to start his job in two weeks. o_O I need to figure out the best time for me to make the move up, any time after May 30.
I should visit my parents before I move. Hmm.
When I get bored at work I play with my toys. Actually, I surf the internet more than I play with the toys, they're more for display purposes.
On the right is a squishy bear and on the left is a squishy bull. I love them because they remind me of the bears and bulls from Mad Money with Jim Cramer. He's got bears and bulls all over his set representing the bear and bull markets.
I got these from Franklin Templeton Investments when I was perusing the career fair oh so many years ago.
I made them kiss.
Melissa is one of the nicest people at work or in general. She's extremely friendly and not a giant turdbag as some others. She heard my Super Mario Bros ringtone and was trying to figure out which level it was. While trying to figure out which level the ringtone was from, she drew this picture on a sticky note which is now stuck to my monitor.
This is Fred. He's the other marketing person. Initially I replaced him and he went over to property management but once they hired 20 new brokers they brought him back to help with the workload.
I've hung out with him a couple times and he's fun. He's always willing to share his snacks with me too such as Craisins and other assorted fruits. He likes to drink... a lot.
When I took this picture he heard the camera go off and turned around but he didn't say anything. I wonder what he thought I was doing cause I didn't tell him I was taking a picture of him.
Oh yeah, I'm a better designer than him.
From time to time we have protests outside of our building. I never know what kind of protests they are because we're inside and they're outside. Apparently, the reason why our building is a prime spot is because a congressman has an office here.
This particular protest included women dressed in pink. I didn't know what their cause was. They dressed up their dogs in pink too which I thought was cute. I made sure to include the bicycle cops across the street in the photo as well.
Usually by the time I leave the building, they're gone.
This is my desk area and how it looks from day to day.
I have a desktop computer where I do email, research, whatever. And then the giant-ass laptop on the right is where all the graphics programs are used. The laptop is not a laptop, it's a desktop that folds. It's huge. I would never carry it around.
I have my little bulletin board on the wall with pertinent information and then another bulletin board in the middle of the computers with stupid information and my Office magnets and a Gator pennant. I also get my own printer which is very useful when I don't feel like walking over to the production area.
So yeah, this is where I work.
I'm so glad the weekend is coming up.
After slaving over a sewing machine all week, I finished the sweater and skirt for my Hogwarts uniform. Of course, I wasn't completely done but this was a Halloween party and the house was either foggy or dark or both so it didn't matter. Ashley is a props woman and she made her own backpack and gun holsters for her Lara Croft outfit. Rob was a British Chav and if you don't know what that is, you can look it up on Wikipedia. Oki didn't go to the party but she was dressed up at home as an aviator. You can't tell, but she's wearing a little leather aviator cap. ^_^ Last, but not least, Pat and Lyn had t-shirts made for themselves. Hehehe.
The party was fun; lots of drinking, candy, dancing, and conversing.
We have lots of candy ready for the kids when they come to the house on Halloween night. Nobody dresses up in my office apparently but I'm thinking of at least bringing my cat-ears.
Dwight: That's a ridiculous question.
Jim as Dwight: False. Black Bear.
Dwight: Well that's debatable, there are basically two schools of thought..
Jim as Dwight: Fact: Bears eat beets.
Jim as Dwight: Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica!
I have my Office Mug, an Office background on my computer, Office Sticky Notes, Office Memo pads, Office Magnets...
Oh man. I think I'm obsessed. o_O This is getting bad.
